Season 07-08
25/07/07 - The Rocket proudly opens its doors this weekend!

So what have you been doing with your weekends since AFC's last game against Portsmouth? Chasing Hare Krishnas down Oxford Street? Getting into the go karting (or "Formula One" as the posh call it)? Rescuing your old programs from flood water possibly?

No doubt, you've missed football but now it's back! Arsenal host the E Cup (I can't bring myself to say….that word) so for both Saturday and Sunday, The Rocket will be welcoming old and new faces alike for the first proper (sort of) football of the season.

For all your smokers out there, it's going to be a tough season for you! You can't smoke in the pubs or in the stadium. However, we've found a way around the ban by opening up Islington's biggest beer garden for your puffing pleasure. With the weather expected to be glorious for both days, you'd be hard pressed to find a better place to start the season.

Doors are open from 1pm to 9pm on the Saturday and 1pm to 8pm on Sunday. The Rocket will NOT be open during either of the Arsenal matches BUT will be open for both of the non-Arsenal matches.

From the Fulham match onwards, The Rocket will be open from 11am. We have also won the license we were applying for which means fans of all ages are allowed in so you can bring your kids! This license also means that everyone (including those not holding a match ticket) is allowed in.

As we host a resurgent Man Citeh at 3pm, we'll be opening the doors at 11am to get your day started right!

Grab one of the couches or have a few games of pool at the back before Football Focus comes on.

We're showing Sunderland vs Liverpool at 12:45pm and then at half time, we're introducing the Away Boyz with tracks from their brand new album "Redness". As well as this, we're having an open mic session. Any songs old or new that you feel deserve an airing can be belted out at 1:45pm as we prepare for Arsenal vs Man City. Heard anything for Eduardo?
