Current Season
24/12/13 - Flag display for Spurs – is a GO!

After a near miss earlier in the season, we are pleased to say that we have the go-ahead for a big display of fans’ flags before the Spurs FA Cup game.  We therefore need to borrow your flags, to contribute to the display.  If you have a big Arsenal flag and want to see it on display in the stadium, read on:

  •  All flags must be pro Arsenal, and must not have any offensive content.
  • We will hang flags from club level as the teams come onto the pitch – all flags must have eyelets to enable this.  We can punch eyelets into your flag if it does not have them (with your permission of course).
  • We need all flags to be dropped off at the stadium on the day of the Cardiff match (i.e. New Years Day); at the Arsenal museum between 1pm and 2.30pm. Flags will then be available for pickup after the Fulham game on 18th Jan.
  • All flags must have a valid fire certificate, please bring this along if available. If this is not available, each flag will be tested by putting a flame to the corner to test the material ; a disclaimer must be signed when dropping off the flag. This test will not be done on the day of drop off.

So, if you have an Arsenal flag at home, please get it out and bring it for dropoff at the Cardiff match.  We will follow up with dropoff time and place between now and then – possibly by email but definitely on Twitter at @REDactionAFC for further updates.  You can also email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you miss the details elsewhere.

Given the short time between now and the Cardiff game (and the number of people off email and social media over Christmas); if you know people with big flags, please let them know in case they miss this message.

Whilst we’re here, just a quick Rocket update – it is OPEN from midday before the Cardiff game.  Swansea vs Man City on TV from 12:45; Man U vs Spurs on TV at 5:30, and £11 jugs of Amstel available post match if you can stomach any more beer!

19/12/13 - Safe standing, Spurs and more ...

Hi all – a few things to let you know about before the Chelsea game, so here goes:

About the Chelsea game specifically:

  • 1. After a couple of disappointing results in the last 2 games, we need a big atmosphere for this one.  We need the fans to stick together and get behind the team.  We are therefore appealing to all to get into the ground in good time, get behind the lads, and stay behind them even if things start looking dicey.  This is not the time for...

05/12/14 - REDaction launch Safe Standing petition

Today, REDaction launch a petition aimed to advance the campaign for safe standing in the Premier League.  Specifically, we are petitioning Arsenal and Ivan Gazidis – we want them to start playing a proactive and leading role in moving things forward.  We have all seen other clubs (e.g. Aston Villa, Sunderland and others) come out in support of the idea; and have all seen the surveys saying that fans are overwhelmingly in favour.  But, we think the campaign is ‘stuck’ – at the point where lots of people say they...

21/11/13 - Back to life, back to reality

After the football we struggled to care about, its back to the stuff we really care about.  Here’s what is going on around the Southampton game, as well as some other news.

First things first, we met with Arsenal last week.  One of the things on the agenda was our big flag, and specifically whether it is allowed to carry on “travelling” across the North Bank, and into the East Stand.  The answer was “we don’t see why not” (which is very much more positive than “no”) – so we will be trying this for the first time at the Southampton game.  The...
